Chuttaracha Chammanthi

HAve you ever had the good fortune to taste the Original Chuttaracha Chammanthi?
I cannot forget my Amma's or Anitha Chy's recipe. As we donot have the traditional woodfire, we manage with the gas burner!
Here's the recipe!
Just cut out thin crescent shaped coconut pieces, burn them slightly in a low flame,
Add Chilli powder, tamarind pieces, 1-2 shallots (kunjulli), bit of ginger, fresh curry leaves, salt and grind in mixer.
Lo & behold, the dark brown chutney is ready, best eaten with rice & curds!
Do try out!

Ramayana Maasa

Yesterday, 16th July is the start of KARKITAKA MAASA for all Malayalis.
We read Ramayana everyday to finish in one month. As I started doing it around 10 years ago, it has been enjpyed more and more.
We see the story of Rama, as it develops, like a Drama seen from a Balcony. Easily one can corelate to the dilemas, sorrows & struggles they pass through!
A great, humbling experience, I must say!
Bet wishes to all

BANGALORE AIRPORT ROAD TRAFFIC

Great news to all who use Airport Road in Bangalore!
This has just become Old airport Road suddenly!
The traffic is long gone, just only 5 min. at Marathahalli Bridge.
Total you may take 10-15 min from Trinity Circle OR Command Hospital to reach Marathhalli.
Not bad at all, considering things are getting worse in all places.
Also, Kudos to Traffic Police at HAL Traffic Police Station for making slight changes in entry/exit to this road at Marathhalli Jn.
Cheers!

BANGALOREANS LETS IMPROVE

Today, I was waiting in the BMTC Bus Stand at Domlur, awaiting my child's BMTC concession pass,(she , in queue). Right in the centre of Bangalore, here sits a prime property of BMTC. Scope for development is, unlimited!
One guy + one bus conductor sits on the waiting seats, then, without any warning spits long onto the same corridor, splashing all round!
Nobody is shocked! It is accepted that anyone can do the same.
See what the highly literate city has come to, it is high time, we just not complain of lack of facilities.
See what our ex-President wrote about our attitude, keep inside of our house clean, throw all waste, sputum out on the road!
BMTC management, please wake up, let us work together to improve all aspects of this wonderful Bangalore city which gives us all the goodness form her heart.

Let us take care of our hygiene, surroundings, lets prevent Chikngunya!

Regards to all

BANGALORE IN SUMMER

In spite of all the pollutionand traffic, Banglore is still OK in SUmmer.
ie, to say, evenings are soo.. cool and breezy with fiery beautiful lightning streaks elctrifying the skies!
A great sight which makes us sit in awe of Mother Nature's powers!
Nights are cool, you can cleep in less or no clothes!!
Thank you Bangalore for being so nice to all, we appreciate.
Who will say sorry for all the trees being cut down daily by BDA in tha name of METRO, Road widening etc.
Let us all join to stop this barbaric nonsense of green cover eradication

DOVE MESSAGE I GOT FROM GREENPEACE

DOUBLE INCOME TWO KIDS

We see so many families in India now with DITK.
Now, with the advent of the IT Revolution, both the parents land up in the house at 8-9PM.
What happens to the kids who are 5-10 years is anyone's guess. Above 10 years is even scary.
How do we tackle this social challenge?
